Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad

Our Organization

The Summit Volunteer First Aid Squad, Inc. is an independent non-profit corporation dedicated to providing emergency medical services (EMS), non-emergency ambulance transportation and safety training to the Summit community. We are staffed 100% by volunteers and are funded solely through private contributions. All of our services are provided free of charge. The Squad is run by officers and a Board of Trustees who are elected from among the membership.

The Squad belongs to several organizations which assist us in providing training, gaining access to the current trends and information in the EMS field and help to share information and resources with other emergency services providers. These include:

• New Jersey State First Aid Council
• National Safety Council and New Jersey State Safety Council
• Overlook Area EMS Council
• Union County Office of Emergency Management EMS Council

The First Aid Squad also serves as a training site for programs from:

• American Red Cross
• American Heart Association
• New Jersey Dept. of Health Office of Emergency Medical Services
• National Association for Search and Rescue
• National Safety Council
